FC Austin Elite Return All Three Captains for 2017

Round Rock - FC Austin is pleased to announce the Elite have signed all three 2016 Captains to return in 2017. Emily Jorgens, Libby Fish, and Monica Perez have all signed on for this year’s Elite roster.

Emily Jorgens, a 2016 WPSL All-Star, was a four time All-American at Trinity University before joining the Elite. She now leads the prolific Elite offense from her position in the center of the midfield. General Manager Danny Woodfill said, "Emily developed into a strong leader and the cornerstone of our attack last season. We're excited to have her back with us!"

Libby Fish just finished her four-year career anchoring the back line for St. Edward's University and now transitions to anchoring the Elite defense full-time. Another 2016 WPSL All-Star, Fish has been an important part of the team since its inception. Woodfill said, "She not only plays a big role on the field as one of our center backs, but she is also instrumental for us off the field because of the leadership that she provides."

Monica Perez was certainly one of the most versatile players for the Elite in 2016 and we expect even more from her this season. From her position as an outside defender, she was able to use her speed and superior understanding of the game to be one of the most consistent scorers on the Elite in 2016. Head Coach Anna Barrett said, "Monica will not be outworked on the field. She leads by example and the rest of the team follows her lead. She is a work horse of a player." Monica was also a WPSL All-Star in 2016.

Woodfill added, "With strong leaders returning to the team, we are looking forward to bolstering our roster and competing for the WPSL Championship. This will be a fun team to watch."
